Carbines Ready by Felician Myrbach. (P) AIC2 Knocked unconscious by one ofNBP0032P. Carbines Ready by Felician Myrbach. Cavalry units during the Napoleonic Wars utilised carbines to great effect. The carbine came in at around 10 inches shorter than the standard infantryman's musket and thus allowed for better manoeuvrability while mounted. Paired with the carbine would be either a light curved sabre or a heavy straight sabre depending on the type of cavalry and battlefield role. Original large antique book plate c. 1893.
