1863 CIVIL WAR BIBLE. Superb Presented by Worried Sister to Prisoner of War Brother. Missionary For the Son of ManA superb wallet style binding presented by Annie Moore to her brother, James. R. Moore, probably after he was released as a Prisoner of War and returned to Washington D. C. before mustering out again. Likely James. R. Moore [b. 1842, TX, d. Genesee Falls, NY], mustered into Company F. Third Infantry, New York in 1864. He served the remainder of the War, was taken Prisoner, and released after the War's end. Unusually fine Bible for a Civil War soldier.
